Spring 2022

The growers from the indiginous Chachi community in Loma Linda received pruning shears to facilitate the cacao harvest  and improve agricultural practices.

Winter 2021

We started a cooperation with  the ‘International Analog Forestry Network Ecuador’ to improve the skills of seed collection, storage and nursery management and discovered the thousands of Ha of cloud forest around the Chachi communities.

Autum 2021

Our new 70g bar Esmeraldas 50% made it back to the cacao growers. 

 

Summer 2021

Our cacao growers are planting the first 5.000 local timber trees in the community of Loma Linda in the Cotacachi Cayapas reserve.

 

Spring 2021

Our local partner built a solar dryer to enable the community to process cacao on their own.

Winter 2020

Our local partner purchases the first cacao which is transported 4 hours down the river by canoe from Loma Linda to Borbon.

 

Autumn 2020

Our local Bean Team set up the first nursery in the community Loma Linda at the Cayapas river for the production of 10.000 seedlings of native and commercial timber tree species.

 

  

Autumn 2020

Our Conservation Cacao Leader Jan is visiting the Chachi communities at the Cayapas river to prepare the upcoming harvest and start of the project.

 

Summer 2020

We integrated the indiginous communities from the Cotacachi Cayapas Eco reserve into the local association and thereby into our Original Beans cacao & conservation project.

 

Winter 2019

Start of the project: Our local partner is starting their first expedition on the Cayapas river to check the possibility of potential new partners in the north of Esmeraldas to grow our project and impact in the region

Spring 2019

Our Bean Team trained growers in biodynamic agriculture to move towards the Demeter standard.

Autumn 2018

Our partners planted 4700 cacao and native wood trees.

Our Bean Team established the farmer association ASODPAMB.

Our partners planted 5300 cacao and native wood trees.

Our Bean Team renewed climate forest contracts with the growers.
